John Edward Halton, son of the late Lorance James Walton, Jr. and Ruth Ella Halton Walton. John the widower of Beatrice Duncan Halton and father of the late John Edward Halton II.
John was one of the first blacks to work at Ford Motors Assembly Plant in Dallas, Texas. John was a member of the Cedar Crest Church of Christ, previously known as The 9th Street Church of Christ. He graduated from Lincoln High School class of 1962. He was a member of the Lincoln Tigers NDCC Black Knights Drill Team. He continued his education at Prairie View A&M University, transferring then to Bishop College.
John’s life will be mourned and cherished in the lives of one daughter, Sonya ReNae Thomas of Greenville, Texas; one son, John Edward Halton III of Las Vegas, Nevada; four grandchildren, one great grandson; one brother, Lawrence Walton III (Brenda); two sisters, Deborah Nolly (James, Sr.) and Cheryl Walton and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
