Karen Owens Obituary

Karen Janette Owens passed away January 5, 2020 at the age of 57. She was born on August 1, 1962 in Stuttgart, Arkansas to Lila B. Robinson (Williams) and Freddie Robinson. Karen was preceded in death by her parents, Freddie and Lila Robinson; brothers, Jerry and Stanley Robinson; sister, Phoenix Robinson; and son, Reginald (Reggie) Owens.

Karen graduated from Stuttgart High School in 1980. After graduation, she decided to move to California with her older sister Kathy. Within her first few years of living in California, Karen had her first daughter and proceeded to raise six beautiful children.

Karen started working at FedEx Freight in California in 1994. During her 25+ year career as a supervisor she was admired for her determination and her willingness to go above and beyond.

In the fall of 2015, Karen and her daughter made the decision to transfer to Dallas, Texas in order to be closer to her family. Karen became a grandmother on December 28, 2016. She cherished every moment she spent with her children and grandchild. Her number one priority was always her family.

Our mother will be remembered as a caring, loving, thoughtful, and overall astounding friend, sister, and person. Despite being a popular person, our mother enjoyed the private time she got just to sit and put on her head wrap and chill. Whether it be her wonderful sense of humor or her great sense of style, she always knew how to light up a room.

Karen is survived by five children: Jennifer Robinson of Atlanta, Georgia, Ryan Owens of Salt Lake City, Utah, Justin Jones of San Bernardino, California, Jasmine Owens of Dallas, Texas, and Jayde Owens of whom lived with her until her passing; one grandchild, Cameron Jenkins of Dallas, Texas; eight siblings, Kathy Satchell of Rialto, California, Vern Williams (Kathy) of Humphrey, Arkansas, Dennis Starks (Carolyn) of Dallas, Texas, Paul Robinson of Stuttgart, Arkansas, Timothy Robinson Sr. (Wynetta) of Grand Prairie, Texas, Sharon Dyer of Benton, Arkansas, Evelyn Smith (Quatro) of Mabelvale, Arkansas and Vanessa Moore (John) of North Little Rock, Arkansas, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
