Marilyn McIntyre (Aka Ann/Annie Baby) was born on August 1, 1954 in Columbus Texas to the parentage of Willis LaFran Perkins Sr and Myrtle Toliver. She was the second to the oldest of four children. Her early school years were at Columbus High School in Columbus, Texas. She completed the LVN program at Blinn Jr College, Brenham Texas (1974-1975), she received her Associates in Nursing at El Centro College (1987), she became a RN in 1988. In 1990 she became Head Nurse in the Burn Unit at Parkland Hospital, and later passed the torch in May 2019. Per Marilyn “I was an Awesome Nurse, Parkland made me fat-not the edible, but the people. #1 priority was the Patients”. During her 43 1/2 years at Parkland, she received several awards.
Marilyn married Sherman McIntyre on June 14, 1975 and the two of them shared parenting of two children, 1 daughter and 1 son.
Marilyn accepted Christ at an early age in Columbus, Texas. In 1988 she became a member of Trinity Temple Full Gospel Church in Dallas, Texas under the leadership of Bishop J. Bervin Ransom, where she was still an active member until her death. She served as a Sunday school teacher and was also a retired member of The Trinity Temple Full Gospel Choir.
Preceding her in death: her parents, her grandparents, 2 brothers, Marshall Toliver(Ricky), and Thomas Toliver.
She leaves to cherish her memories: her husband, Sherman McIntyre (Dallas); daughter, Shermetra LaTrice McIntyre; son, Sherman Andre’ McIntyre; brothers, Herbert James Perkins, Willis LaFran Perkins Jr (Mary), LaRay Perkins (Shirley), and Brett LaMond Perkins; sisters, Kenny Annette Vanterpool (Glen), Kim Trahan (Eric), and Chakita James; special friend, Ms. Wanda Ruth Lee; God-grandchild, Janavia Sharee Outley, Parkland Family, and many nieces and nephews, family and friends.
