Regina Walker Upshaw “Ne-Ne” was born September 3, 1950 to the parentage of Clarence Walker and Jennie V. Bables. Regina received her education from the Garland Independent School District. With a very spiritual background, she accepted Christ as her personal Savior at an early age. For many years, she was a faithful member of Friendship Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of her brother, Pastor Paul E. Walker, where she was a true soldier in the Army of the Lord, truly earning her wings. She served as the My Heart Beats Two Ministry Leader, along with being a member of the Virtuous Women and Hospitality Ministries.
Regina was employed at Versa-Tech Corp for 17 years. From there, she worked for Sentimental Jewelry for 13 years. Later she was employed by Head Start where she retired as the Head Chef after 10 years of service.
On April 6, 2012, she married her long time best friend, Anton Upshaw, with whom she spent the rest of her life with.
Regina Walker Upshaw departed this earthly life on July 10, 2019. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Jennie V. Walker; brothers, Clarence Walker, Jr. and Clifford Walker; sisters, Wanda Stenline and Denise Hamilton. She leaves to cherish her memories: her loving and devoted husband, Anton Upshaw; brother, Pastor Paul E. Walker; sister, Ella Brown; half sisters, Elaine Ware and Stella Greenwood; Godsons, Dario Ware and Elijah Williams; three daughters, Antonette Alcantar, Dawnie Chambers and Toccara Alcantar; son, Trent Upshaw, along with a host of other relatives and friends that loved and will miss her greatly.
