Adell W. Pollard, 91, died Monday, March 21, 2022 in DeSoto, TX. A Memorial services will be held Saturday, March 26, 2022 in Cedar Hill, TX. Mrs. Pollard will lie in state Tuesday March 29th from 12pm to 6pm in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd. Flint, MI. Funeral Service is Wednesday, March 30th at 11 am at Moon Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Cemetery in Flint.
Mrs. Adell Pollard was born Sept. 7, 1930 in Fouls, LA. She attended Grambling State University in Grambling, LA., she moved to Flint and began a teaching career with the Michigan Public School System. She retired after teaching elementary school for 44 years. She was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church until she moved to Cedar Hill, Texas to be close to her son in 2017.
Mrs. Adell Pollard leaves to cherish her memory: son, Roderick Pollard Sr. and his wife Anetria of Cedar Hill, TX; grandchildren, Khristian Pollard of Houston, TX, Roderick Pollard Jr. of Dallas, TX, Alfred Pollard III, Deion Earl-Lee Pollard, and J’Quasia Pollard, all of Flint; great-grandchildren, Sa’Raiya, Hannah, Amira, Malachi, Alijah, Angel, Antonio, Allen, Zahria and Brooklyn; sisters, Shirley Pine of Monroe, LA., Yvonne Hall of Las Vegas, NV, and Bettye McKinny of Los Angeles, CA;
She was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred Perry Pollard Jr., son, Kenneth Earl Pollard; parents, Annie Wilson and Barbara Bell Wilson; brothers, Willie, Harvey, Norman, Annie Jr. Floyd Wilson.
Mrs. Pollard has a host of nieces and nephews and other family and friends.
