Albert Clifton McCarther Jr. was born on December 31, 1944, in Teague, Texas, to the late Albert and Earline McCarther. He was one of the eldest among 11 siblings and was educated in the Dallas Independent School District.
In 1965, Albert enlisted in the United States Air Force, proudly serving his country for 20 years. His assignments took him across the globe, including Vietnam, Thailand, and the Philippines. He retired honorably in 1985 with the rank of Technical Sergeant, serving as an Aerospace Photographic System Technician and Material Facilities Specialist.
During his time in the military, Albert met and married Soling Taboada. From this union, they welcomed three children: Albert III, Buena (Ben), and Urika. In his later years, Albert married Alicia Andagan, gaining two beloved bonus children, Calvin and Kimberly. After retiring from the military, Albert continued a life of service through his work with the United States Postal Service, where he served as a Maintenance Technician until his second retirement. A man who loved working with his hands, Albert found joy in tinkering with motorcycles, cars, and just about anything he could take apart and put back together.
Albert was a faithful servant of the Lord who dedicated his life to teaching the Gospel and leading souls to Christ. Though he received many certificates of ministry and biblical study, his true reward was found in serving God and walking in His Word. His legacy of faith, teaching, and devotion will continue to inspire all who knew him.
Albert was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Earline McCarther, and his brother, Billy Ray McCarther.
He leaves to cherish his memory: his loving wife, Alicia; his children: Albert III (Yuka), Ben (Denise), Urika (Craig Sr.), Calvin, and Kimberly; his grandchildren: Madeleine, Jasmine, Derrick, Dantaisha, Malisiya, and Craig Jr.; his siblings: Alverne Jones, Maxine Porter, Barbara McGarry, Gwendolyn Lott, Clenetta Borner (Phil), Dean McCather, Paula Lacy (Anthony), Reginald McCarther (Gail), Wanda Zuniga. He is also mourned by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends.
