Albert Warner Powers, a kind soul of 86 years, departed this time side of life on June 20, 2021. He was the son of Jessie Roger Powers and Thelma Mae Warner. He is the husband of the late Evelyn Ann Powers, and is survived by one child, Mark Gerrard Powers. He has one brother, Brande Kantayene of San Francisco, California. The arc of this journey was blessed by close friends and extended family, whom he cherished deeply.
Albert attended Saint Peter’s Academy and graduated in 1950. Later, he attained his Certificate of Equivalency for High School Achievement from the Texas Education Agency. In 1955, he enlisted in the United States Air Force. While serving in the Military and stationed in Europe, he worked as a Mechanic maintaining Military Vehicle Transport. In this, he was able to combine his formal Mechanic Training with a natural ability for building and fixing, a talent that he utilized throughout life. He was Honorably Discharged from the Air Force in 1959.
In the years to follow, Albert began a new career. He worked for the United States Postal Service for 36 years and retired in 1989. While with USPS, he served as a Union Steward, and was an active participant in their National Conventions.
He was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church. Leisure activities included Fishing, Gardening, and Cooking. He was also a connoisseur of Music. Albert Warner Powers was blessed with 50 years and beyond, of love, marriage, and family with Evelyn and Mark. He lived life quietly and maintained a heartfelt love for all Humanity until he was called to his resting place.
