Barry Joe Harrell, age 70, of DeSoto, Texas, passed away on February 19, 2026. Barry (Bobby) was born on May 3, 1955, in Marks, Mississippi to parents, Jesse and Alberta Harrell. He grew up in Marks and attended Quitman High school in Mississippi. He later moved to Dallas and received his master’s degree from Columbia Pacific University.
Bobby worked as an Engineer with Frontier Communications, where he retired. He got joy when helping others with their computer needs whenever he could. He made a lasting impact on those who knew him. Bobby joined Cornerstone Missionary Baptist church, under Pastor Dwight McKissic, where he was a faithful member until his health declined.
Bobby is preceded in death by both his parents, Jason and Alberta Harrell, and several siblings. Those who are left to cherish his memory are Jason Harrell, son, Brenique Lighten-Harrell, daughter, Bobbie Jean King (James), Emma C. Harrell, N.C Tinnell, Jessie Harrell, and Martha Harrell, siblings; Ramona Alexander Baldwin, siblings, his best friend and former wife of 13 years. He is also survived by a host of siblings, including a twin sister, nieces, nephews, other relatives, along with friends who will cherish his memory.
