Bessie Davis Obituary

Bessie Davis, affectionately known as "Mommy", "Mama" and "Mom" to many, was born on June 25, 1949, in Hallsville, Texas to the late Leo Davis and Willie Mae Evans-Davis. She passed away peacefully on May 4, 2025, in Dallas, Texas. Surrounded by the love of her children and family in her final moments, she left this world with the same warmth and grace she gave throughout her life.

To her children she was not only a mother, but everything. Her strength, love, and unwavering support are the foundation of their lives and will continue to guide them.

Bessie was preceded in death by her beloved parents: Willie Mae Evans-Davis and Leo Davis; siblings: Nina Davis, Leo Davis Jr., Ida Mae Easley, Velma Davis, Lerlen Davis-Cherry, Robert Davis, Raymond Davis, and John Davis. She is survived by her children: Anthony "Wolf" Davis (Jacqueline Clark-Davis), Yolanda Davis, Iris Davis and a bonus daughter, Jessica Hale; her treasured grandchildren: SaNetria Davis, Noah Ross, Cameron Davis, and Jahitaria Bush, along with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Her love for her family was boundless, and her memory lives on now in each of them.

Now pain-free and at peace, Bessie has gone to meet the Lord, surely preparing a place in heaven for those she held close. She will continue to watch over her loved ones, offering quiet strength and comfort until they meet again.

Her legacy of love, kindness, and resilience will remain forever in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
