Billy Bookman

In loving memory of a beloved, Billy Bookman, who left us surrounded by his loving family on March 19, 2026. Born in Dallas, Texas on May 14, 1956, Billy was the proud son of Henry and Claree Bookman and the fourth of six siblings, sharing a special bond as a twin brother to Bobby Bookman.

Billy grew up in West Dallas, where he embraced his faith at Mt. Nebo Baptist Church from an early age. He graduated from L.G. Pinkston High School in 1974. He was blessed with two sons, Derrick Adams and Koby T. Ards.

In 1991, Billy married Cardell Wynn, bringing even more love into his life.

Billy was preceded in death by his parents, as well as his brother, Mitchell Johnson, brother-in-law, Dave Watson, and sister-in-law, Gloria Scott.

He will be remembered fondly by and leaves to cherish his memories: his two sons, Derrick Adams and Koby T. Ards; two brothers, Bobby Bookman (Georgia) and Melvin Scott (Gloria); his sisters, Ethel Watson (Dave) and Shelia Williams (Ken); along with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
