A beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. Billy George “Baby” “BG” Lane was born on February 2, 1944, to the union of James Lane and Lavell Harmon in Paris, Texas.
Billy professed his faith and accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age in life.
In 1962 he graduated from Gibbons High School in Paris, Texas. After graduating high school Billy was enlisted in the United States Navy in 1962, where he received decorations for the Vietnam Service Medal and the National Defense Service Medal. After being honorably discharged from the Military, Billy worked for General Motors until he retired after 36 years of dedicated service.
Billy met and married the love of his life Lessie Lane, and they shared over 60+ amazing years together. To this beautiful union four children were born: Vincent, Veronica, Alicia and Billy Jr.
Billy was known for his handsome and infectious smile, beautiful grey eyes, and his humble and welcoming personality. In his leisure Billy enjoyed fishing, watching sports, listening to music, playing golf, dominoes, teaching life lessons to his grandchildren and entertaining family and friends.
Billy is preceded in death by his parents James and Lavell Lane and his brother James Lane (Margaret). Leaving to cherish his memory is his beautiful and loving wife Lessie Lane and their four children; Vincent (Monica), Veronica, Alicia (Lucky Sr) and Billy Jr; his brother Johnny (Kay); twelve grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, and an abundance of loving family and close friends.
