Chelsea Rowel Obituary

Celebration of Life Story

Our precious Chelsea Joy Rowel, (aka Cheli B by her Grandpa) made her debut into this world in Annapolis, Maryland on October 15, 1991. Harwanda and Keith Rowel, parents, are forever thankful for their only daughter together.

Chelsea began her elementary career at World Harvest Christian Academy and moved to The Columbus School for Girls, a private school in Columbus, Ohio. Her family moved to Texas where she completed her secondary academics and graduated from Klein High School in 2009. With so much excitement and 4 years of amazing memories, Chelsea graduated from Texas Christian University, TCU, (Go “Horn Frogs”) in 2013.

While being quiet and an introvert, Chelsea truly enjoyed life. Growing up she spent summers in Virginia with her Grandparents and Aunt and loved her dancing days with the Klein High School Bearkadettes Dance Team. While at TCU, Chelsea made a multitude of friends and joined a sorority, The Alpha Kappa Alpha, AKA. She was determined to make a change on campus, in the community and in the world by joining this sorority and other community service groups. Chelsea loved helping others and giving back. Her heart was so big.

The infectious smile of our sweet Chelsea will forever be engraved in our hearts and minds. And her sense of humor….well you know!

Chelsea’s whole world and heart grew even more on March 7, 2014, when she and James Dunbar (fiancé) were blessed with two beautiful bundles of joy, Princess Jacie Alexis, and Princess Layla Ciara.

As the world turns and blessings continue to flow, Chelsea and James strengthened their forever love and joined together as a family with their beautiful daughters. The happy couple was planning to wed in May 2023.

Chelsea was a true entrepreneur and had so many aspirations and enjoyed many endeavors. In 2009 she started Sweet Endings, a delicious bakery business.  Chelsea also held numerous jobs within the culinary world. In 2019 Chelsea became a private Food Consultant/ Business Coach. Her desire to help others reach their goals of becoming business owners, lead her to step into the world of IG live series streaming. Chelsea was known as a Foodpreneur and broadcast bi-weekly series inspiring others and giving tips on food, life, business, and goal setting.

Chelsea was diagnosed with Lupus in 2012 and struggled throughout the years to fight as hard as she could. In 2021 Chelsea was diagnosed with Chronic Kidney Disease and in 2022 was diagnosed with End Stage Renal failure during the time of Covid. She tried her best to knock it out by receiving dialysis three times a week and waiting to be added to the transplant list. All of this took a toll on our sweet Chelsea”s body.

Chelsea was so strong. She put up an amazing fight to the very end. Chelsea suffered cardiac arrest on Wednesday, November 2, 2022, and was unresponsive until she took her last breath on Sunday, November 13, 2022.

Chelsea Joy will forever be remembered, loved, and missed by her beautiful dedicated and beloved Mother, Harwanda Hancock Rowel (Reginald); Father, Keith Rowel (Rose); Love of Her Life - Fiancé, James Dunbar; Princess Daughters, Jacie Alexis Dunbar and Layla Ciara Dunbar; Future in Laws, Chequita Dunbar, McEntry Dunbar (Rashawnda); Maternal Grandparents, Harold and Freida Hancock; Paternal Grandparents, Late Horace Rowel, Late Ulysses and Late Lillie B.
