Cheryl Spearman Obituary

On August 10, 1965, the Jackson Clan was complete when C.P. and Arlevia Jackson welcomed Cheryl Elizabeth Jackson into the world. The youngest of seven children, Cheryl’s infectious smile and personality lit up every room she walked in from the very beginning. Cheryl Elizabethto was North Tulsa born and bred. She attended Tulsa Public Schools and graduated as an ’83 Scot from McLain High School. But most importantly her commitment to God began when she was baptized at Shiloh Baptist Church.

Upon graduation she attended the University of Oklahoma for two years before deciding to create her own path and took the leap to Dallas, TX.   And even though Cheryl changed her location, distance never separated her from the bonds, friendships, and sisterhood that she formed with her girls Julie, Sheila, Kim, and Corneta.

On April 12, 1995, Cheryl and Cleothis were wed and welcomed two sons Adrian Cleothis and Austin Charles to their family. Cheryl Elizabeth Spearman loved her family, and she valued those relationships and those bonds. One of her proudest moments was when she became a grandmother to River Eve. She spoke to River Eve along with her son Adrian, and sister Kay daily. And even if she did not talk to you every day, she regularly checked on family and friends because she genuinely cared about others.

Dallas was good to Cheryl Elizabeth. She began her career at Sprint Telecommunications where she dedicated her expertise and skills over 20 years. And when her season at Sprint ended, she went to work with her husband at N-ZONE Greek Apparel. She became a member of St. John Baptist Church where she volunteered her time to the children and usher ministries. She created lifelong friendships with Sandy and Roy.

Always positive, Cheryl displayed a patient, listening ear, genuine, empathetic, encouraging, honest spirit; and those are just a very few words that described her. She loved unconditionally. It was not just about the texts with a sun, flowers, smiley faces, or hearts, it was the way she shifted the energy and how that small thing could make you smile. That was her giver’s heart. Whatever you needed, if she had it, she would give it to you. She celebrated with you. She prayed with you. She encouraged you.

If you knew Cheryl Elizabeth, you knew her beautiful smile and her infectious laugh. She had the kind of laugh that would make you laugh with her. She loved to laugh, and she loved to dance. She did not try, but she was the life of the party wherever she went. Always maintaining a level of class, but in the words of her husband Cleothis, “Sweetie” was the only woman he knew that loved the Lord and loved to cuss. The world, her husband, her kids, her family, her friends lost a light. The words to describe how much she will be missed do not exist. She is forever in our hearts.

Remaining to cherish the wonderful memories of Cheryl: her husband, Cleothis; her sons, Adrian (Brittney) and Austin; granddaughter, River Eve; her sisters, Mary Freeman, and Deborah Duncan of Tulsa, Ok and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
