Clara Young Obituary

I, Clara Roberson Young, was born on February 20, 1947, to the late Ben and Mary Roberson of Chidester, Arkansas. I am writing this obituary in part prior to my earthly departure on August 28, 2025. On May 25, 1966, I graduated from Pleasant Hill High School in Chidester, Arkansas. Just a few months later, on August 3, 1966, I married the love of my life, Charles Young, son of Clyde and Marie Young of Rosston, Arkansas. To our union, God blessed us with two precious children: Cledus and Charliette Young.

For 21 years, I was employed with the Dallas Independent School District as a Special Education Teacher's Assistant, where I poured patience, love, and care into the lives of countless children.

In February 1976, I was added to the Myrtle Street Church of Christ, where I faithfully served as secretary of Sunday School for many years and found great joy singing in the choir, lifting my voice in praise.

Outside of work and church, my greatest joy came from spending time with my family. I treasured every gathering, every meal, and every laugh shared with my children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. I loved baking special treats for those I loved and found peace and happiness in the beauty of God's creation, whether it was admiring the changing seasons, tending to the outdoors, or simply enjoying quiet moments in nature.

I leave my love and precious memories to my husband, Charles of 59 years, my son Cledus (Jeanette) Young of Riverview, FL, and my daughter, Charliette (Erick) Cummings of Arlington, TX; one grandson Taj Cummings of Arlington, Texas, five granddaughters; Jasmine King of Dallas, Texas, Bailey Cummings of Arlington, Texas; Linette Ruize, Julianne Brown and Jailene Hernandez, of Lakeland, Florida. Thirteen great-grandchildren; Jase King, Peter King and Pierre King of Dallas. Texas, Kyland Bo Hannan, Adien Taylor, and Harley Traylor of Arlington, Texas, Landon Barce, Jaliyah Brown, Janayah Brown, Elias Hernandez, Dru Lamar Brown, Ocean Wallace and Lorenzo Hernandez of Lakeland, Florida. Behind I leave one brother, Andrew (Penny) Roberson of Dallas, Texas, along with a host of nieces, nephews, loved ones, and dear friends.

I was preceded in death by my parents, Ben and Mary Roberson of Chidester, Arkansas; my four sisters, Louise Pasha II, Joyce Banks, Maude Eva Holliman, and Earnestine Smith; and my three brothers, Robert, James, and Charles (Charlie) Roberson.

To my family and loved ones: Obey God and remain faithful until death, and we will see His face in peace. I have so much love for every one of you. -Clara Young
