Cleophus "Cokie" Beal was born November 24, 1945, in Los Angeles, California to parents, Matthew Deal and Annie Irene Beal.
He accepted the Lord as His Savior at an early age. He attended Booker T. Washington High School, where he became a star football player. He worked for many years as a Patient Caregiver.
On March 16, 2025, the Lord called Cokie home. He was preceded in death by his wife, Doreen Beal; his parents, Matthew and Annie, and his siblings, Fred, James, & Matthew Beal and Lois Stewart.
He leaves to cherish his memory: daughters, Tuwonda Smith (Darrell Smith) and Simona Bennett; son, Eric Beal; stepdaughter, Cherie Toliver; grandchildren, Dontae Bennett, Sasha Brooks (Dabrion Brooks), Shatoi Bennett, Porsha Bennett, Tiara Bowie, Terica, Kaitlyn, Langston, Aubrey Beal, and Eric Brown; brother-in-law, Harold Toliver; sisters-in-law, Sondra Cannon and Wanda Dawkins; 9 great grandchildren, and a host of special nieces, nephews, and cousins. He also leaves behind special friends for many years: Jo Nathon, Charles G., Butch, and Angie.
