Brother Clinton L. Loyd was born April 7, 1952, to the late Nettie Gatson and the late Daniel Jr. Hurd in Woodlawn, Texas. He was educated at Pemberton High School in Marshall, Texas.
He accepted Christ at an early age at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Woodlawn, Texas. Later he moved to Flint, Michigan, where he became a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Clarence Knox.
Clint was employed at General Motors. He later returned to Woodlawn and became an entrepreneur with a logging business. In his free time, Clint loved to fish and horseback riding.
Clint married the love of his life, Melzora Womack. God blessed them with 40 wonderful years together.
Clint was preceded in death by his mother, Nettie Gatson, and father, Daniel Jr. Hurd, his brothers Earl Hawkins, Cecil Gatson, Keith Gatson, and his sister, Kaye Landers.
He leaves to cherish his memory: his beloved wife, Melzora; children, Jeremy Hurd, Cedric Womack, Alia (Mario) Reeves, and Corey (Sherrin) Womack; 8 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren; brothers, Perry Gatson, Lima Ohio, Derek (Jacquelyn) Gatson, and Orlando Florida; sisters, Mary (Joe) Holloman and Tonnia (Odis) Rushing both of Hughes Springs Texas, LaQuetta Gatson of Hopkinsville, Kentucky, and Shanta (Jerry) Smith of Sulphur Springs, Texas; one uncle, Percy Hawkins; one aunt, Fayeola Hawkins, and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
