Darryl Duke

Darryl Duke was born September 14, 1963 in Dallas, Texas to the parentage of Mattie  Duke and James E. Taylor. He was baptized at New Generation Missionary Baptist Church.

Darryl received his formal education from the Dallas Independent School District, graduating from Justin F. Kimball High School in 1981. Duke, as he was affectionately called held various of jobs as a Cook in the Dallas Metroplex area over the years. Duke never met a stranger, and was loved by all.

Darryl met and later married Donna Woods on February 10, 1988. To this union three children were born.

Darryl departed this earthly life on December 16, 2019. He was preceded in death by his father, James Taylor; brother, Harold Johnson; and a special cousin, Jesse Gay.

He leaves to cherish his memories: mother, Mattie Duke Taylor; sister, Gwendolyn Thomas; brother, Dennis Taylor; wife, Donna Duke; one daughter, Jamie Duke; two sons, Devin Duke and Rojuan Duke; three nieces, Shakala Thomas, Natasha Thomas, and Antinisha Branch; great nieces and nephews, Kenyon, Anjah, Justice, Adrian, and Zay; grandchildren, Ennasun Duke, Keyshun Duke McCoy, and Catherine Duke; a very special aunt, Maurine Johnson; special cousins, Kim Gay, Vickie Turner, and Teddy Richard; special caregiver for his mother, Sandra Manuel, along with a host of other relatives and friends that loved him dearly.
