Darryl Wayne Shaw was born on December 11, 1966, in Dallas, Texas, to the parentage of Bertha Mae Shaw and Walter William Evans. His parents; his sister, Juanita Shaw-Green; and his brother, Eddie Ray Shaw, preceded him in death.
Darryl attended Garland High School in Garland, Texas, where he was an exceptional basketball player.
He accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Kaiser Street Baptist Church. He was a faithful member of Heaven’s Gate Baptist Church, where he served as a drummer in the music ministry under the leadership of Rev. Melvin Floyd, Jr.
He met and married Yolonda Butler in Dallas, Texas, and a union was formed.
Darryl was employed by the City of Plano, Texas, Waste Management Department for 10 years.
He passed away peacefully on February 13, 2026, surrounded by family and friends.
Darryl leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Yolanda Yvette Butler-Shaw of Dallas, Texas; two daughters, Lakendra Faye Shaw of Dallas, Texas, and Alexxis Nicole Shaw of Alton, Texas; two brothers, Robert Louis Ross (Alma) of Dallas, Texas, and Shannon Shaw, Sr. of Houston, Texas; one sister, Lisa Ann Evans; eight grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
