Deontae passed away in Houston, Texas at the age of 22 years old on Tuesday, November 9th 2021. Though he left this world far too soon, he left this world a better place. “Dray” was a talented basketball player, an avid gamer, a beloved son, grandson, brother and friend to many. He was known for his humble nature, enormous heart, constant acts of chivalry and his listening ear.
Dray was born in Dallas, Texas. He received his formal education from Lewisville High School. Shortly after graduation, he enlisted in the United States Navy. Following an honorable military discharge, Dray pursued a career in the Finance industry where he excelled in the field. Dray was planning to pursue a degree in Computer Science, he eventually wanted to become a Engineer and build gaming computer systems.
Those left to cherish Dray’s precious memories are, his loving parents, Shaunta Howard and Toderick Young, as well as his sisters, Atlanta Fitzgerald, Joelle Batts, Kaleah Young; and brother, Toderick Young II, amongst others. He is also survived by his maternal grandmother, Odessa Howard and paternal grandmother, Syble Young; aunts, Shalaundria Square, and Shenequa Howard, close cousins, Tyreon Burns, Omarion Watkins, Edward Burns Jr, LaVareon Jackson, Billy Thomas Jr., MaShyra Thomas, and Denasia Thomas, along with a host of other loving friends and relatives.
A life so beautifully lived deserves to be beautifully remembered. He will truly be missed.
