Derrick Kennard Rhodes

Derrick Kennard Rhodes Sr. was born to the parentage of the late Dorothy Nell Cooper and Robert Edward Rhodes on August 25, 1967. On June 10, 2025, Mr. Rhodes heard the voice of the Heavenly Father and accepted the call. Derrick Rhodes attended Wilmer-Hutchins High School, where he was a 4-year letterman for the Eagle football and baseball teams. He later graduated from high school in 1985.

Derrick Rhodes met Serena Hill in 1985 and the two married on May 20, 1989. To this union, three children were born. Their vows were renewed on May 20, 1998.

Mr. Rhodes attended trade school where he started his career as a Maintenance Supervisor for years. After his health declined, he served as a crossing guard for Lancaster ISD. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He was a member of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church.

He is preceded in death by his father, mother, and grandson, Seven Majesty Rhodes.

Left to cherish his memories: sons; Derrick Rhodes II (Angelica), Thedford Rhodes (Lakeria); daughters, Deliasha Rhodes, Chloe Haley; Grandchildren, Zariah Johnson, Emonie Johnson, Ri’An Johnson, Za’Mauri Lipford, Hendrix Rhodes, and Madison Haley; brothers, Drick Brooks and Dwan Rhodes (Shun); uncle, Raymond Rhodes (Carmen); Aunt, Debra Rhodes; godchildren, Alaia and Jahmi Edwards; and host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends.
