Ms. Dianne S. Jackson-Williams passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 30, 2024. Dianne was born on June 19, 1951, to Bernis P. Jackson Sr. and Sammie Lee Jackson (Waites) in Dallas, TX, where she was raised and lived her entire life. From a young age, Dianne felt a deep connection to her faith. She openly professed her belief in Jesus Christ and was baptized at Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist Church.
Dianne's journey began in the Dallas Independent School District, where she worked hard and made lasting memories. She graduated from James Madison High School in 1969, full of ambition and ready to take on the world.
Early on, Dianne met Donnell Williams Sr. while working at Baylor Hospital, and what started as a simple connection soon turned into something more. In 1970, they married and together brought three children into the world: Dawn LaRay, Debbie Ann, and Donnell Jr.
Dianne was a hard worker whose diligent work ethic was seen in her early days as she worked landscaping jobs with her Paw-Paw. Her career path took her to a variety of places, each chapter adding to her story—first at Baylor Hospital, then Safeway, Inc., followed by Mostek Electric, and eventually Aviall. She gave her all to every job she held and would continue to work hard to provide for her family even into her later years. After years of unwavering dedication, she retired, leaving a legacy defined by hard work, perseverance, and a steadfast commitment to everything she did. Her legacy of dedication and relentless effort helped instill a sense of independence in her children that can still be seen today.
Her independence and pride in her work were extended even to her hobbies. It all started with a simple love for the outdoors she gained while working with her Paw-Paw and a desire to keep things looking their best. Over the years, her lawn became more than just grass—it was a passion, a labor of love. It was often said that Dianne had the most beautiful lawn on the block.
Dianne lived life on her own terms, finding joy in the simple pleasures—especially a cold gin and a good game of dominoes. Whether surrounded by family or friends, she was always ready for a lively game; her sharp wit and competitive edge often kept everyone on their toes. She had a spirit as bold as the characters in her favorite Westerns and was never one to shy away from a playful argument, always letting her thoughts and feelings be known. Her larger-than-life personality, sharp humor, and endless love for her family and friends will be remembered by all who knew her. Whether over a drink, a game, or a good-natured disagreement, Dianne’s spirit will live on in the memories she leaves behind.
