Doris “Jean” Slaughter was born on January 6, 1977, in Dallas, Texas to the parents of Linda and the late Otis Williams Jr. She closed her eyes on December 30, 2024, after her brave battle with breast cancer. She fought until the end and her loving family stood by her side.
She was the middle child of 5 siblings and shared a special bond with her brothers and sisters. Jean was baptized at an early age, under the leadership of the late Rev. Dr. C.H. Gerald with Community First Baptist Church and later began membership with Greater Community Baptist Church under the leadership of Emeritus James E. Coleman, where she remained under the leadership of Pastor LaCedric D. Williams. She was in the choir, worked with the praise team and mime ministry.
Jeans' life was a testament of her strength, resilience and unwavering love for her family and friends. She was a devoted daughter, a cherished sister and an adoring mother who brought light and joy to every life she touched. Her vibrant personality and kind spirit left an indelible mark on all who knew her.
She was a proud South Oak Cliff High School Golden Bear Class of 1995. At SOC she played basketball, softball, and was a devoted cheerleader. She ended her career at UPS in HR until becoming an entrepreneur, creating and starting her own company, DJean Vizions.
One thing that we all know is that Jean loved God. She would always pray for and with others. She loved spending time with her family, laughing and always wore a smile on her face.
Her father, Otis Williams Jr.; grandmother, Mable; aunties Alice & Velma, and uncle, Berta all proceeded her in death.
She leaves to cherish her loving memories; her mother, Linda; her amazing children, Doriyan, DeMondre (Money), and DeAaron (Sam); one beautiful granddaughter, Dariyah; special friend, Greg; siblings, Bryant (Keith), Von, Desirae and Daphne; uncle Skeeter; nephews, DeCorey, Malik, Diamond, DeMarion, Daveion, Don’te, Reginald and Tyrone; nieces D’Neja, T’Riyah and Dailey, her 4Lifer Tasha, chosen sisters, Ayana, Janet, and Toya and a host of cousins, family members and friends.
