Earlean Smith was born on August 31, 1942, in Harrison County, Texas, to the late A.G. Johnson, Sr. and Annie Mae Johnson. She was one of twelve children, growing up surrounded by a large and loving family. Earlean received her education in Harrison County and later made her home in Dallas, Texas, where she resided for many years. On August 18, 1962, she united in marriage to Jimmy Smith in Harrison County, Texas. From this union, one son, Doug Smith, was born.
Earlean dedicated much of her life to hard work and service. She worked as a store manager in various retail establishments, where she was known for her leadership and dedication. After retiring, she found great joy in caring for the children of her loved ones, a role she cherished deeply and fulfilled with love and devotion.
Earlean was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Jimmy Smith; and her siblings, A.G. Johnson Jr., Billy Ray Johnson, Precious Johnson, Darren Johnson, and Beneva Mayo.
She leaves to cherish her precious memories: her loving son, Doug Smith; her grandchildren, Brian Garrett, Racheal Smith, and Jerry Cox; ten great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings, James Johnson, Carl Johnson, Bobby Johnson, Steven Johnson, Victor Johnson, and Rener Taylor; her sister-in-law Jessie "Dot" Smith; and her devoted best friend of over 50 years, Clarence Manning, along with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and dear friends. Earlean will be remembered for her strength, kindness, and the love she shared with her family and all who knew her. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of those she touched.
