Fay Jones Hagler was born March 25,1941 in Danville, Virginia to her beloved mother and father, Ruth (Brothers) Jones and Arthur Washington Jones. Known for her beautiful smile and precious spirit, she was a woman filled with love and light until God called her HOME on Sunday, January 10, 2021.
Fay grew up and attended schools in East Orange, New Jersey. She graduated from Clifford J. Scott High School in 1959. Her postsecondary education was attained by attending Bennett College in Greensboro, North Carolina and New Jersey Teachers College (now Kean University) in Union, New Jersey. After completing her education, the next chapter of Fay's life involved meeting and marrying the man of her dreams, Herbert Hagler, Jr., and continuing her teaching career in Lawton, Oklahoma.
Fay's commitment to giving God glory in everything she did extended to the classroom. As a first and second grade teacher, she embodied a spirit of excellence and exuded a heart of love for every student she taught. Mrs. Hagler, the educator, was a no-nonsense teacher who gave her best to each child who crossed her path!
And still there was love to share, for Fay J. Hagler was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Surviving Fay J. Hagler includes her children, Felicia and (Robert Vaughn), and Ivan and (Colette Hagler). She, also, leaves behind her sister, Ruth Dubois and brother-in-law, Dennis Dubois. She was blessed with five grandchildren, Malik Vaughn, Makel Vaughn and Jasmine Brown, Faith Hagler and Matthew Harper. She leaves behind four great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, many other loving relatives and dear friends.
Fay leaves a lasting legacy of love for her family and friends, of hope in being reminded that all things work together for good for those who love the Lord, and of faith that God truly loves us best.
