In loving memory of our matriarch, Frankie Lee Johnson-O’Neal, who brought immense love and joy to those around her. Frankie, born on November 5, 1939, to Thelmon Rather Johnson Sr. and Annie Mae Hudson-Johnson, in Bullard, Texas, was not just a beloved cook and caterer but a beacon of warmth and compassion within her community.
From her early education in Bullard ISD to her cherished moments in Dallas, Frankie built beautiful memories that many of us shared. Her Sunday family meals were legendary, and her passion for cooking brought her family closer together. Whether it was fishing or playing cards, Frankie embraced life with enthusiasm, but her greatest joy came from spending time with her family, especially with her sister, Annie Fairrow. Their bond was something truly special that we all admired.
Sadly, on September 27, 2024, we lost Frankie, a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She now joins her loved ones who preceded her, including her husband Clinton “Jack” O’Neal, her parents, two daughters, Jeanette Johnson-Betts and Marilyn Denise Johnson; her brothers, Thelmon Rather Johnson Jr., Lloyd A. Johnson, Willie B. Johnson, Lester C. Johnson Sr., and Jerry Johnson; sister, Annie Fairrow, and granddaughter, Unique Brown. Although we grieve her passing, we are grateful for the legacy of love and fond memories she leaves behind.
Frankie’s memory will live on through her two sons, Michael Johnson Sr. (LaTisha) and Gary Johnson Sr. (Angela); bonus children, Freda O’Neal, Clara Sanders (Larry), Jackie O’Neal, Fred O’Neal, and Dwight O’Neal; brother, Billy Ray Johnson (Vickie); grandchildren, Corey Johnson, Michael Johnson Jr. (Shanikwa), Richard Johnson (Angela), Rayven Johnson, Joshua Johnson, Gary Johnson Jr., Jonathan Johnson (Tionnah), Terrence Johnson, Asiyah Rhone, Trinity Rhone, Gabrielle O’Neal, and Ashlei O’Neal; nieces that were more like daughters to her, Carolyn Johnson, Debra Johnson, Bilierae Johnson, Brandy Johnson, and Ebony Johnson; her special family whom she held dear to her heart, Nell Sanders, Corinne Sanders-Martin, and June Naylor; as well as through her great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and a host of extended family. Her love touched so many lives, reminding us of the importance of family. As we come together to celebrate her life, let us remember the laughter, the meals shared, and the bonds forged. She will always hold a special place in our hearts.
