Freddie Lee Zeno, Jr., age 72, of Dallas, TX, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 4, 2026.Freddie Lee was born in Dallas, TX on Friday, January 6, 1961, to the parentage of Freddie Lee Zeno, Senior, and Willie B. (Jackson) Zeno.

 

Freddie confessed Christ as a teenager and was baptized at East Dallas Church of Christ in Dallas, TX, under the ministry of the late R.B. Thurmond.  At his passing, he was a proud member of the Church of Christ in Hutchins, TX, where Bro. Carl O. Sherman is the minister.

 

Freddie Lee was educated in the Wilmer-Hutchins Independent School District, where he graduated from John F. Kennedy High School (now Wilmer-Hutchins High School) in the year of 1971.  He was a member of the Marching Band, Jazz Band, and Concert Band, and as a staunch trumpet player, joined the local Liquid Funk Band, later members of the group merged with Lakeside.

 

After graduation, Freddie Lee attended Grambling College (now Grambling State University) and was a member of the Grambling Tiger Marching Band, under the direction of the late Conrad Hutchinson, Jr.  Later he was enlisted into the United States Army, stationed in Killeen, TX assigned to Company B of the 17th Armored Engineer Battalion, 2nd Armored Division, under the command of FORSCOM (U.S. Army Forces Command). He was decorated as a sharpshooter (rifle) (pistol) and Expert (Grenade).

 

After his honorable discharge from his military assignment, Freddie attended MTA Truck Driving School.  After schooling, he worked in many capacities in the Service Industry (i.e. Housekeeping, Food Service Management, Transportation, and his final employment with Pat Stephens Community Center in West Dallas, until his health failed.

Cowens, Bernice Jackson; Brother-in-Law (Calvin B. King)

 

Those remaining on the ship:  Sisters:  Karen (Carol) Zeno-King, Isha Zeno, Tanya Zeno-Spencer (Chauncey); Nieces:  Schekeita (Keita) King, Traesi Spencer-Smith (Carl, II); Nephews:  Jeremy Zeno, Chauncey (Trey) Spencer, III (Taneisha), Devin Spencer, Great Nephews:  KaDarius “KD” Barrett, Khalvin King; Great Nieces:  Kaitlyn King, Trasey Spencer (Sunshine); Great-Great Nieces:  Dysember Barrett, Ivy Barrett, Ka’Nyiah Barrett; Carson Smith (boarding the ship soon); Aunt:  Margaret Fields; Step-Mother:  Elesteen Zeno.
