Gay Nell Frazier-Wilson was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, sister, and friend. Gay passed away on April 13, 2022, at the age of 62, after a nearly 2 year battle with breast cancer. Throughout her battle, Gay was surrounded by loved ones who will now continue to keep her memories and legacy alive.
Gay was born to Matthew and Ernestine Ervin in Dallas, Texas on December 3, 1959. She graduated from Adamson High School class of 1978 and went on to have a successful career in banking for many years. In 1988 Gay became a mother and later went on to have two more children. After years apart, Gay reconnected with Leonard Wilson, and the two picked up where they left off, fell in love, and married in July of 2018.
Gay was a devoted and faithful woman of God. She enjoyed gospel music and studying the word of God. She was also an excellent cook who loved to prepare meals for family and friends. Gay typically spent her weekends shopping, as she was always looking for a good deal. Gay was known as a mom to many and accepted anyone in need of a home and mother figure.
Gay is survived by her husband, Leonard Wilson, as well as her children, Jonathan Smith (India Smith), Miah Smith, Aleisha Frazier, and Kanessa Wilson-Mack, Grandchildren, Jonathan Smith Jr. and Jordyn Smith, Brothers Michael Ervin, and Matthew Ervin Jr., as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Gay is preceded in death by her parents, Matthew and Ernestine Ervin, Siblings Ricky Rogers, Dennis Rogers and Anita Ervin.
If Gay were still here today, she would want all of those she left behind to celebrate her life and find joy/comfort in the fact that she is in the arms of our Father and a place with no pain or misery. Gay will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who know her.
