On October 23, 1950, Gene Elleck Brown, Sr. was born to the parentage of Ira Dell Brown and Irish Jo Lane (both preceded in death). He went to school at Fannindel High and at the age of 18, he met and married his wife of 56 years Brenda (Jackson) Brown on August 24, 1969.
He worked in construction for many years, enjoyed DJing, playing music and dressing nice.
They were blessed with five children: Gene Jr. (Keisha) Brown, Ira Dwayne Brown (preceded in death), Yolanda (Russell) Johnson, Dameon Brown, and Evita Hughes. His siblings; Brothers: John Brown (preceded in death), Manuel Jiminez (preceded in death), James Davis Jr. (preceded in death), Roy Brown, Ira Dell Brown, and Hardy Brown; Sisters: Betty Jo Davis (Taylor), Dianne Davis, Vera Brown, Tina Brown, Dorothy Hightower, and Rose Louise Brown (preceded in death); brothers-in-law, Kenneth (Tina) Jackson, Gregory (Gwendolyn) Jackson, and Willie (Rosemary) Jackson, Jr.; sister-in-law, Barbara Porter (preceded in death); his grandkids; Grandsons: Travonte’ Brown, Cameron McNeal, Rashad Brown, and DaQuan Bookman; Granddaughter: Lazoria Bookman; two great granddaughters: Da’Naria Brown and Shy’Nyhla Brown; great grandson: Tru Hughes and a host of other family and friends.
