Geraldine Jones Calice, a beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, grandmother, and friend peacefully transitioned on December 25, 2024. Geraldine was born January 11, 1949, to the late Esther Jones and the late Monroe Jones Sr., in New Orleans, Louisiana. Geraldine was in the class of 67’ at G.W. Carver High School in New Orleans. Geraldine was also a faithful member of Central Missionary Baptist Church.
Geraldine later met and married Harold Calice, Sr. To this union were born: Marlon Calice and Maurice Calice. Along with his first son, Harold Calice, Jr. a blended family was formed.
Geraldine worked for Mercy Hospital as a Phlebotomist while in New Orleans. Geraldine and Harold Calice Sr., later relocated to Dallas, Texas in 2005 due to Hurricane Katrina and established a new home in Grand Prairie, Texas. They joined Friendship-West Baptist Church in 2006 as faithful members. Geraldine was part of the ARJ Senior Ministry, Golden Girls Ministry and the Church Birthday Club.
Geraldine was known for her friendly and chatty demeanor, kindness, her beautiful smile, exceptional sewing and the love she genuinely showed for her family, friends and strangers.
Geraldine leaves to cherish her memory with husband, Harold Calice Sr.; her children, Harold Calice, Jr., Marlon Calice Sr. & Maurice Calice, Sr.; her grandchildren, Terrance Barnes, Harronisha Calice, Jasmine Calice, Mya Calice, Harold Calice III, Chabryal Adams, Jaylon Bennett, Maurice Calice Jr., Marlon Calice Jr., Kylen Calice, Kyllie Calice, Taylor Navarre & Demond Bennett; her great grandchildren, Ikai Barnes & Jior Morgan; her brothers and sisters, Ethel J. Fletcher, Maurine J. Williams, Harvey Jones Sr., Shirley J. Taylor, Keith Lebeau, and Kelvin Lebeau. Geraldine was preceded in death by her mother Esther Jones, Her Father Monroe Jones, Her sister Elaine J. Henry & Her brothers Monroe Jones Jr. & Sylvester (Jimmy) Jones. She also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
