Harold Burnett, III Obituary
On October 26, 1972, Harold Burnett III was born to Harold and Willie Eva Burnett in Dallas, Texas. As the first son in a family grounded in faith, music, and Christian values, Harold was raised to love God and serve others. Known affectionately as “Lil Harold,” he developed a love for singing early in life, often carrying the bass line alongside his father.
Harold attended R.C. Buckner Elementary, E.B. Comstock Middle School, and H. Grady Spruce High School, graduating in 1991 before attending Southwestern Christian College. At age 12, he was baptized into Christ at Cedar Crest Church of Christ, where he became actively involved in worship, youth programs, and music ministry. He also sang with the Dallas City-Wide Youth Chorus and was known for his rich bass voice and smooth solo leads.
Harold married Barbara Ross, and to their union they were blessed with three children. Jasmyne, Daizhua, and Ashton. Harold was also blessed to have another son, Dorian (mom, Lisa). Throughout adulthood, he stayed committed to church service. As a member of Mountain View Church of Christ, he served in music ministry, security, youth programs, and anything he could find his hands to do. He was also a part of the security team with the Texas Women’s Empowerment Conference for several year.
Professionally, Harold worked as a transportation technician at Baylor Medical Center in Dallas. Yet his greatest joy came from spending time with family. He loved singing gospel songs, cheering for the Dallas Cowboys and Mavericks, grilling with loved ones, and expressing his sharp sense of style through coordinated fashion.
Despite the challenges of living in a long-term care facility, Harold remained steadfast in his faith. Supported by family and his church family, he found great encouragement in worship services, Bible study, prayer, and fellowship. Following the passing of his father in 2024, Harold embraced the role of family patriarch, faithfully checking on and making sure his mother was cared for every day.
Surrounded by love and strengthened by faith, Harold peacefully departed this life on May 29, 2026, at the age of 53.
He was preceded in death by his father, Harold Burnett Jr.; his brother, Gerald Burnett; his grandparents; and other beloved family members. He leaves to cherish his memory his devoted mother, Willie Eva Burnett; sister, Sharyl “Dena” Zeno (Leon); siblings Daryl Burnett (Ernieca) and Carole Hamilton (J.K.); his children, grandchildren, and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, church family, and friends.
Harold’s life was marked by faith, service, music, love for family, and unwavering devotion to God. Though his earthly journey has ended, the impact of his life and the memories he created will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
