Hollis Larenzo “Bodie” Maxfield was born on July 11, 1958, to the late Hollis Maxfield, Sr., and Inell Finley Maxfield in Waldo, Columbia County, Arkansas. He transitioned from this life on Saturday, April 18, 2026, at Knapp Medical Center, Weslaco, Texas.
From an early age, Larenzo was grounded in faith, baptized into Christ under the guidance of his father at the Dodson Street Church of Christ in Nashville, Arkansas a foundation that remained with him throughout his life.
Larenzo grew up in Waldo, Arkansas, where his energy and presence were impossible to miss. At Westside Elementary and later Waldo High School (Class of 1976), he stayed active and involved whether as a Boy Scout, Junior Fireman, member of F.F.A., or on the basketball court. He didn’t just participate he brought life wherever he went. After graduation, he enlisted in the United States Army, stationed in Fort Lewis, Forscom, WA., where he proudly served for five years, including a three-year tour in Germany. His time in the military reflected his strength, discipline, and sense of purpose.
Larenzo was a man who believed in building something of his own. With a strong entrepreneurial spirit, he became the President and CEO of Alpha e Angel in 2018. Never one to settle, he continued to dream and expand, most recently relocating to Weslaco, Texas in 2026 with his wife to begin a new journey as RV park owners.
But more than anything, He was honored to be “POPS” to his grandkids. Larenzo will be remembered for the way he made people feel. Known as “Uncle Bodie,” he was a protector, a provider of joy, and the kind of man people naturally gravitated toward. His great-nieces and nephews used to say they thought he was rich not because of money, but because every time they were with him, it felt like something special was about to happen. Going to Uncle Bodie’s house meant a good time, laughter, and memories in the making. He had quick wit, a love for laughter, and a presence that filled the room. Whether he was fishing, hunting, golfing, enjoying good music, talking about cars, or relaxing with a cigar, he lived life fully and brought others along with him.
On June 8, 2018, Hollis married Nicole Parker. Their marriage was filled with a deep, unwavering bond. Together, they embraced life side by side.
Hollis is preceded in death by his parents and a nephew: Brandon Smith.
