James Ray Austin Jr. was born on January 30, 1959, to James Ray Austin Sr. and Rosie Lee Austin (Dupree). He was raised in Dallas, Texas, where he attended public schools and graduated from Skyline High School in 1977.
He continued his education at the University of North Texas and the University of Texas at Arlington, where he earned both a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in Electrical and Mechanical Engineering. His dedication to learning and his profession reflected his strong work ethic and commitment to excellence.
James worked faithfully throughout his career until his retirement. He was known as a man who valued his independence and often preferred solitude. Those who knew him understood his quiet strength, wisdom, and gentle nature.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James Ray Austin Sr. and Rosie Lee Austin (Dupree), and his siblings: Lawrence Austin, Sharon Austin, and Larry Austin.
James Ray Austin Jr. leaves his loving daughter to cherish his memory, Jamesia Austin; three grandsons, TJ, Braxton, and Jase; Siblings, Joseph Austin and Johnnie Mae Austin along with a host of family and friends who will continue to honor his legacy.
He passed away peacefully, leaving behind a life marked by resilience, intelligence, and quiet dignity. His presence, wisdom, and gentleness will be deeply missed by his family and all who knew him.
