James Booker, III was born on February 13, 1987, in Dallas, Texas to the parentage of the late James Booker, Jr. and Eleanor Freeman-McIntyre. He accepted Christ at an early age and carried the Lord’s Word in his heart.
James was a faithful member at the Cedar Crest Church of Christ under the leadership of Brother Jonathan Morrison, Senior Minister.
James accepted Christ into his life and served as a faithful member of the Cedar Crest Church of Christ, which set the foundation that shaped him into the man we all have come to love.
James’ faith in God was truly evident through his kindness, generosity, support, wisdom, and his unwavering love he showed for those around him.
James began his education at Roger Q. Mills Elementary School, then continued to Oliver W. Holmes and then graduated from Franklin D. Roosevelt in 2005. He played football for the Roosevelt Mustangs.
James’ captivating smile and energetic personality illuminated any space he entered.
James loved cheering on his nephew, Robert Jr. (“Jay’R”)’s, basketball games, going to church and enjoying family gatherings. He was a true fan of the Washington Commanders (Redskins) Football Team.
James was an active coach for the Little League Football Team, “The Comets”. He also coached the Cedar Crest Basketball Team.
James worked at Cintas for many years, 10 plus years where he was employed as a forklift driver. He was also employed at American Airlines.
James’ heart was a wellspring of love and compassion. He was the sweetest, most selfless person, always ready to lend a helping hand and offer a listening ear.
James loved to engage in heartfelt conversations and cherished every moment he spent with his family.
James was affectionally called, “Lil James”, “Booker” and “Red Skin”.
James was preceded in death by his beloved grandmothers, Robert McIntyre and Marie Booker; father, James Booker, Jr.; grandfather, James Booker, Sr.; aunt, Betty Freeman; uncles, James (Pistol) Freeman, Bernard Booker, and David Booker.
James is survived by his mother, Eleanor Freeman-McIntyre; two brothers, Marcus Booker, Robert Booker, Sr.; one nephew, Robert (“Jay’R”), Jr.; one great aunt, Rose Anna Nunley; one uncle, Danny Ray Booker (Barbara); one aunt, Patricia Booker; bonus nephew, Milo Adams; two God-children, Jade and Justice Armstrong; and a host of cousins, aunts, church family, extended family and friends.
