Johnie Pryor

Johnie Ruth Pryor was born August 31, 1937 to the union of Ormer and Susie Rogers. She was the second of five siblings.

She was educated in the Mount Vernon Public School System and was a graduate of Denton High School. In 1959 she married the late Billy Bruce Pryor. Their union created two beautiful children: Kawanis Renee Lanier and Billy Marquette Pryor.

The family united in fellowship with New Birth Baptist Church in Dallas, Texas. Johnie had a devoted career in management and home healthcare until she retired in 2005 and married Richard Williams.

She was preceded in death by both of her loving parents, first husband, Billy B. Pryor; son, Billy M. Pryor; and two sisters, Maggie Thomas and Luey Rogers.

Johnie leaves to cherish her memories: her husband, Richard Williams; one daughter, Kawanis Lanier (Anthony); one sister, Wanda Savage (Dan); one brother, Ormer Rogers, Jr. (Helen); one Godsister, Carolyn Clemmons; one Godbrother, Tom Deloney; three grandchildren, LaCedriq (Kay Kay) Beckham, Brandi Maxiell (Jason), and Gabrielle Lanier; nine great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and good friends that loved her dearly.
