Johnny Allen, also known as “Punkin”, was born October 16, 1948, in Pelican, Louisiana to the late Ralph and Ollie Allen. He attended the DeSoto Parish schools, where he enjoyed playing baseball as a youth. He was the oldest of his siblings.
Johnny moved to Dallas, Texas as a young adult. During this time, he met and later married Sharrion Clark of Dallas, Texas. Their union lasted for 28 years. The two remained friends up until his passing. Through this union, they were blessed with two children; MaShalle Thompson and Brandon Allen.
Johnny worked in various industries, including commercial/residential insulation, he worked as a self-employed landscaper and finally left the workforce. retiring from Dallas I.S.D. in 2017. He enjoyed spending time with and going to visit his extended family. He had an immense sense of humor and a passion for fishing and hunting.
Proceeding him in death were John Allen Sr. (brother), Ida M. Calhoun (sister) and his parents, Ollie and Ralph Allen.
He leaves to cherish his memorial daughter, MaShalle Thompson (Andre-son in love), their children: Aeremy and Aaron. Loving son Brandon Allen. Siblings-Rosie M. Allen, Minnie Palmer, Azalie Miller (James), Marie Bell, Mary Bryant, Carolyn Short and James Housley, all of whom reside in Louisiana. A host of nieces, nephews, beloved family and friends.
