Jonathan Wayne Bush was born on August 15, 1957, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He departed this life on February 19, 2026, at the young age of 68. Jonathan grew up in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where he completed his GED at Milwaukee Area Technical College in 1977. He was raised in the church under the leadership of his late parents, Reverend Richard Bush and Missionary Helen Bush, who instilled in him a foundation of faith that carried him throughout his life.
He met the love of his life in 1975, Renee, and they were united in marriage in 1976. For 49 years, they built a life grounded in love, commitment, and devotion. Jonathan was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who treasured his family deeply.
Jonathan and Renee moved to Aurora, Colorado, in 1984 and officially made it their home a few years later. Jonathan had a passion for trucking that developed into a lifelong career. He worked with several trucking companies, including Safeway in Colorado, where he spent many dedicated years. In April 1999, he established JWB Trucking Company, and in May 2003, he acquired his own motor carrier authority. He successfully operated his business for many years until a near-fatal motor vehicle accident in November 2019 led him to close the company.
Known as a fighter and a protector, Jonathan battled cancer beginning in January 2011. Despite enduring countless treatments, he continued to press forward and do what he loved. In September 2015, he suffered a heart attack and underwent quadruple bypass surgery and stent placement. Yet again, he persevered with strength and resilience.
Jonathan was passionate about sports cars, boxing, and spending time with his family. His strength, determination, and love for those he cared about defined his life.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Helen Bush Sr.; his brother, Richard Bush; and his son, Jonathan Wayne Bush, Jr.
He leaves to cherish his memory his beautiful bride of 49 years, Renee Bush; two daughters, Tamika (Fred) Miller II and Tamera-Jo (Anthony) Grant; five granddaughters, Navé (James) Glover, Najore’ (Victor) Lopez, Nashae’ Miller, Kayliona Wheeler, and Aspen Grant; two grandsons, Fred Miller III and Anthony Grant, Jr.; and one great-granddaughter, Mozelle Renee Lopez. He also leaves three sisters, Zoreda (Will) Lane, Alisha (the late Leonard) Bush-Hardge, and Meredith Bush; two brothers, Harold (Cynthia) Bush and Gary (Sandra) Bush; three living aunts, Bulillie Williams, Ruth Ware, and Shirley Banks (“Pee Wee”); three living uncles, Ira Joe Henderson, Clarence Bush and Ronald Bush; a very close niece, Kelli Bush; and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and extended family.
Jonathan Wayne Bush’s legacy is one of strength, perseverance, faith, resilience, and unwavering love. His presence will be deeply missed, but his impact will live on in all who knew and loved him.
