Kenneth Anglin, Sr. Obituary

Kenneth Nelson Anglin Sr. was the third child of the late Wallace Anglin Sr. and Laura Lee White Anglin, born on April 1, 1941. He was born in Coleman, Texas. He grew up in Granbury, Texas. He attended school there until the seventh grade, and subsequently returned to Coleman, Texas, to complete his high school education at Humphrey High. After graduation, he relocated to Dallas, Texas, where he attended Barber College in the early 1960s. Upon completing his education, he started working at a Barber and Beauty shop located on Carroll Street in East Dallas. And eventually he opened up his own business.

While working at the Barber and Beauty shop, he met a beautician named Mary Gibbs, with whom he fell in love and later married. They were blessed with two sons, Virgil Eugene Anglin and Kenneth Nelson Anglin Jr. He joined the East Dallas Church of Christ and was a devoted member for over 64 years. He cherished his faith and his church family.

Mary Gibbs Anglin, his first wife, was called home at a very young age. Later, Kenneth married his second wife, Bernice Grant. Their marriage lasted for 46 years until she was called home to be with the Lord.

Kenneth's home was always open and welcoming, embodying love and compassion. Alongside his wife Bernice, they cared for her parents until they were called home and cared for his grandmother in their home until she was called home.

Following the death of his wife and during a period of personal illness, Kenneth once again extended his care and hospitality by opening his home to his first cousin until he was called home.

Kenneth was a Dallas Cowboys fan and also loved sitting on his front porch waving at everybody who passed by. It appeared as if he knew everyone in the neighborhood.

Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents, Wallace Anglin and Laura Lee White Anglin; his sisters, Gladys Omelia, Bessie Fay, and Sandra Joyce Anglin; and his brothers, Wallace Jr. and Edward James Anglin.

He is survived by his two sons, Virgil Eugene Anglin and Kenneth Nelson Anglin Jr.; his brother, Ronald Gene Anglin, (wife Evelyn); along with many other relatives and friends who loved him dearly.
