After 53 years in his earthly assignment, Laraqui Rayshawn Hider answered heaven’s roll call on September 05, 2025, in Dallas, Texas. He was born on February 12, 1972, to Sherlyn Hider and James Wilson Jr. Laraqui graduated from Cedar Hill High School, where he played for the Cedar Hill football team until he realized football was not for him. At a younger age, he played community soccer and football. He loved the Dallas Cowboys, Dallas Mavericks, and Texas Rangers.
He worked for Cintas as a warehouse worker, and later for JCPenney’s warehouse and Walmart Distribution warehouse. No matter where he worked, he would take on a role as a person that his coworkers could confide in. He would offer support to many of his co-workers and friends by providing Bible scriptures as a means of providing answers to their personal concerns. He always told them to keep God first in their lives and not let anyone steal their joy. He loved cooking shows and loved to cook. He would sometimes display his beautiful food arrangements on Facebook.
He had a love for Rap music as a young man, but through the years, he gave his life to God and started enjoying gospel rap music. He would study and read the bible every day, sharing the word with those who would listen.
He leaves to cherish his memories: his loving mother, Sherlyn Hider of Cedar Hill, TX, his father, James Wilson of Cedar Hill, his brother, Jarad Jemison of Dallas, and Nicholas Watkins of Dallas. Uncles: Arnold Hider of Dallas (Elsie), Walter Wilson (Brenda) of Alabama, Paul Wilson (Vern) of Alabama, and Robert Wilson of Fort Worth. Aunts: Belinda Davis of Alabama, Linda Salyton of Alabama, Faye Hider of Dallas, and a host of other relatives and friends.
