Lee A. Hardin was born on March 20, 1949, in Magnolia, Arkansas. He was the youngest of six children born to the union of John L. Hardin and Cordelia Murphy. Lee accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age and was raised in the Seventh-day Adventist Church.
On September 2, 1967, Lee married the love of his life, Jewelene Lacy. Together they shared 56 wonderful years of marriage and were blessed with three children.
Throughout his life, Lee was known by many names: Lee Boy, Skee Boo, Unc, Toot, Big L, Mr. Lee, and most endearingly, just plain old Papa and Daddy. He was a man of many talents—working as a truck driver, carpenter, electrician, welder, and always known for his great sense of humor. Lee was the kind of person who never turned away anyone in need. If you called, he answered—no matter what.
Lee was preceded in death by his parents, John and Cordelia Hardin, and all five of his siblings: Hubbard Hardin, Jeroline Lark, Irene Craven, Dorthy Freeman, and Corine Goss.
He leaves behind a lifetime of cherished memories with his beloved wife, Jewelene Hardin, and their three children: Terry Lacy (Porsha), April Sally (Darryl), and Jewell Hardin (Shumone). He was the proud grandfather of seven grandchildren: Marcus Rutledge, Isiah Norton, Renecia Lacy, Terry Lacy Jr., Simone Burnett, Shun’Drea Burnett, and Sha’Dara Sally, and seven great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Lee shared a special brotherly bond with his friend of many years Jimmy Dean and held a unique place in his heart for his special daughter, Charlie Hardin. Lee A. Hardin will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him.
