Lotis Mae Henderson was born August 30, 1941 in Shreveport, Louisiana to Howard Henderson and Louisia Jones. She transitioned on June 6, 2020 at Charlton Methodist Hospital in Dallas, Texas. She was the youngest of two born to her parents union. Lotis accepted Christ at an early age at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Shreveport, Louisiana. After she completed her high school education in Louisiana, she relocated to Dallas, Texas. Lotis then attended and joined New Jerusalem Institutional Baptist Church under the late O.E. Piper.
She worked for Methodist Medical Center for over 40 years before retiring in 2005.
Lotis, affectionately known as “Wiggie” often talked about how she enjoyed going to “The Boat”. She loved watching Family Feud and Wheel of Fortune.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her older brother, Willie Henderson. She leaves to cherish her memories: cousin/sister, Jasey McGown; sister-in-law, Rebecca Henderson; a host of nieces and nephews, Carl McGown (Susie), Vanessa Holt (Gerald), Sylvester “Chuckie” (Ruth), Wanda Floyd (Governor), Beverly Hawkins (Leroy), Lucilius Henderson (Sabrina), Tony Henderson, Joanetta Moore (Darryl), Kenneth Henderson (Gwen), and Karon Henderson; a host of great nieces and nephews, friends, neighbors and coworkers that loved her dearly.
