A Life Well Lived: In Loving Memory of Lucille Arnold. On March 21, 1935, Lucille Arnold was born into this world—a gift to her parents, Marie Wilson and Walter Myles—and a light to all who would come to know her. Her life was one marked by love, service, strength, and an unshakable sense of purpose.
Lucille received her early education at St. Peter Catholic School, where she began laying the foundation of discipline, poise, and perseverance that would carry her through every chapter of her life.
She began her professional journey at Texas Instruments, where her sharp mind and strong work ethic quickly stood out. Never content to remain stagnant, Lucille had her eyes on leadership. Determined to rise, she obtained her Certification in Quality Control, carving out a space for herself as one of TI’s respected QC Specialists. She dedicated herself fully to the role until she proudly retired—leaving behind a legacy of excellence, diligence, and grace in the workplace.
But Lucille’s truest calling wasn’t just professional—it was deeply spiritual and relational. She accepted Christ at an early age and became a faithful member of The Church of the Living God PGT under the leadership of Bishop R.L. Goodman. Her journey of faith continued under H.D. McGriff, where she served as a Sunday School teacher and Church Secretary, always using her gifts to serve with humility and heart. Eventually, Lucille returned to The Church of the Living God in West Dallas, this time under Bishop Archie Thomas, where her spiritual fire continued to shine.
Lucille was many things—a daughter, sister, mother, auntie, grandmother, friend—but most of all, she was a caretaker of hearts. Whether tending to the elders in the family, offering wisdom with a side-eye, or simply telling someone to “Get somewhere and sit down,” she did it with love and with that signature Lucille style. She was known for her Annual Valentine Tea Parties, her love for shopping, and her consistent ability to make anyone feel like family.
Lucille was preceded in death by her beloved mother Marie Wilson, father Walter Myles, and cherished niece Annette Griffin.
She leaves behind a legacy of love in the hearts of her children: Quincy Arnold (Thea) and Karen Armstrong (Cecil); her two sisters: Doris Pollard and Walrena Drausin; her two granddaughters: Shanique Arnold and Cecilia Armstrong; and her great-granddaughter: Kayci Jackson. She also leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews who adored her: Quida Black, Iris Black, Cheryl Griffin, Ursalia Griffin, Danielle Black, Karl Black, Gregory Griffin, Jeffrey Black, Michael Griffin, along with many great-grand nieces and nephews who will carry her spirit forward.
