MacArthur Moore was born on September 23, 1963, to the late Vernon Moore and Casceal Pearson Moore. On January 3, 2026, Mac peacefully transitioned from this life to eternal rest.
Mac accepted Christ at an early age and lived his life firmly rooted in faith. He was deeply passionate about his love for the Lord, a devotion that shaped who he was and how he treated others. As a young man, he joined God’s Holy Temple Church under the leadership of the late Reverend Bobby Pearson. Later in life, he united with Oak Garden Church in Dallas, Texas, where he remained a faithful and devoted member until his passing.
Mac proudly served his country in the United States Navy, enlisting in 1980 and honorably serving for six years. His military service reflected his discipline, dedication, and sense of duty—qualities that were evident throughout his life.
A gifted musician, Mac had a deep love for gospel music. In his early years, he played the bass guitar and was an active member of a quartet group, sharing his musical talents to glorify God and uplift those around him.
Mac’s love for Christ was contagious. His warm spirit, genuine kindness, and unwavering faith touched everyone he encountered. He had a special way of making people feel seen, loved, and encouraged through his walk with God.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Vernon Moore and Casceal Pearson Moore; his brother, Eugene Moore; and his sister, Jeanette Moore.
Mac leaves to cherish his memory his loving siblings: Verna Dean Pearson; Linda Hackney (Anthony); and Kenneth Moore (Neni). He is also survived by his beloved nieces and nephews: Jeleta Pearson, Arielle Hackney, Niky Le (Kevin), Aaron Moore, Tory Tyner (Taylor), Trenton Pearson, Aniya Tyner, Zyriah Tyner, Tory Tyner, Jr., and Nadia Tyner, all of Dallas, Texas.
He also leaves a host of aunts and uncles who will fondly remember him: Jean Foster; Albert Pearson (Eartha Pearson) of Dallas, Texas; and Thomas Sand Pearson and Lennie Pearl Pearson of Arcadia, Louisiana.
In addition, Mac leaves to mourn a host of other relatives, extended family members, and dear friends whose lives were touched by his faith and kindness. The family would like to extend special thanks to Mac’s childhood friends, Gerald Walker and Joyce Jackson, for their lifelong love, loyalty, and unwavering support.
MacArthur Moore will be remembered for his steadfast faith, his gentle heart, his enduring love for God and family, and his joyful gift of music. His legacy of faith, service, and kindness will live on in all who knew and loved him.
