Minister Nadine Hayes Obituary

Nadine Hayes, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, teacher, and ordained minister, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 3, 2025, in Cedar Hill, Texas, at the age of 71.

Nadine was born on November 6, 1953, in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, to Cartise Carroll and Victoria Martha Lamb-Hayes. She graduated from Pine Bluff High School in 1971 and began her academic journey at Arkansas AM&N College, later continuing her studies in Business at the University of Akron in Ohio. As a devoted military spouse and mother, Nadine's path took her across the country, where she furthered her education at Mira Mesa Community College in San Diego, California, studying Early Childhood Education. Her passion for learning and service to others led her to Dallas Baptist University, where she earned both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Christian Counseling.

Throughout her life, Nadine was dedicated to nurturing and educating young minds. She worked as a preschool teacher, substitute teacher, and elementary educator, pouring her heart into every classroom she entered. Her passion for children extended beyond the school walls—she was actively involved in PTA organizations and church-based community outreach programs.

A woman of deep faith, Nadine was ordained in 2002 by The Potter’s House of Dallas under Bishop T.D. Jakes, Higher Ground Always Abuning Assembly, Bishop Sherman Watkins.  She spent much of her adult life studying the Word of God and evangelizing in every opportunity she could, including being a prayer warrior on The Potter’s House Prayer Line and a counselor in the Christian Counseling Center. Her commitment to her faith and community left an indelible mark on all who knew her.

Nadine is survived by her loving children: son Ahmad Hayes (Elizabeth) of Shreveport, LA and daughter Stormy Turner (Jonathan), of Cedar Hill, TX. She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren—Chloe, Mycah, and Jacob—as well as her siblings: Wallace Johnson (Anne), Alfred Carroll (Sharon), Dorlean Curry, Myrtle Collins, Vivian Jones, and Vernette Kittrell.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Cartise and Victoria Carroll, her brothers Manuel and Ellis Carroll, and her sister Doris K'Nuckles.

Nadine’s legacy of love, service, and faith will continue to inspire all who had the honor of knowing her.
