Monica Scott was born December 18, 1956, in Dallas, Texas to James Mensey and Andrew & Orpah Crane who both preceded her in death. Monica was called home to be with the Lord on Sunday, September 29, 2024. She was 67 years old.
Monica attended Dallas Public Schools and graduated from South Oak Cliff High School in 1975. She also attended El Centro Jr. College. Throughout her life she worked for many years for The Southland Corporation, Savitz Research Center, and The American Kidney Fund. Monica was a entrepreneur owning her own business in the clothing industry.
She accepted Christ at an early age and was a faithful member of Community First Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Mickey Gerald and the Late Reverend C.H. Gerald.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Andrew & Orpah Cane; her brother, Thomas Scott; sister, Vickie Scott- McMillan; and grandmother Allie Brown.
She leaves to cherish her memories: son, Marcus Scott; two brothers, Kenneth Scott (Juanette) and James Scott; grandchildren, Marcresha McDonald-Scott; T’Maija Fonteno, T’Miajah Fonteno, and Cayden Hall. She also leaves behind one great granddaughter, Jaz’anaie McDonald and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
