Roderick Maurice Woodson was born on January 5, 1969, in Amarillo, Texas to the parents of Loyce Woodson Minnfee and Shirley Cash. The Lord called Roderick to glory on the morning of February 9, 2025.
He accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at the North Heights Church of Christ and later moved to Dallas, Texas where he became a member at the Cliff View Church of Christ. He was passionately devoted to the Cliff View Church of Christ.
Roderick graduated from Palo Duro High School in Amarillo, Texas, in 1987. From an early age, Roderick has never been a stranger to strong work ethics and the civility of being a strong black man to support any endeavor he put his mind to. He worked tirelessly to support his children, Jaidan and Jada Woodson, who developed a unique and unbreakable bond.
Roderick attended Cedar Valley College and later began a career in Telecommunications, Sales and Marketing and would go on to work for AT&T for 25 years. He later worked for Nissan Motor Corporation until his health declined when he retired. Roderick was affectionately known as “Coach Wood” by the Arlington Youth Football League and “Peanut” to his older brother Marcus Foster.
Roderick was preceded in death by his father, Loyce Woodson Minnfee; his paternal grandparents, Lenex and Nellie Woodson and his maternal grandmother, Princess Wilson.
Roderick is survived by his wife Jacquelyne Woodson, son Jaidan Woodson, daughters Jada Woodson and Jaselyn Mays, granddaughter, Violette Bryant, mother Shirley Cash, brother Marcus Foster, sisters Krista Andrews, Kela Foster, and Tahisha Minnfee, nephews Marcus Wiley, Sabastian Parhm, and Tru Parhm, nieces Jasmine Parhm (Steven), and Charmane Parhm, great niece Chante Woodson, and special friends Greg White, George Green and many more loved ones, great friends and a host of others whose life he touched.
