Rodger R. Bethune, Sr., was born on March 16, 1952, in Highland Park, Michigan to the parentage of the late Clinton and Bobbie Bethune. He entered eternal rest on Monday, January 20, 2025, surrounded by his loving wife and family. In October of 2009, Rodger moved to Dallas, TX where he met the love of his life Jujuan Williams, and on April 2, 2010, they were united in Holy Matrimony for 14 years.
Bro. Bethune was a member of the Eastside Church of Christ of Forney, TX where he served as a member of the Praise and Worship Chorus and security detail.
Rodger retired from Ford Motor Company after thirty-six years of employment, which fueled his love for cars. Rodger then went on to become a bus operator for UT Southwest Hospital for five years. In his leisure, he enjoyed singing, detailing cars, going to car shows, thrifting and watching movies with “The Wife” and spreading love and joy to all he encountered.
He was preceded in death by his parents Clinton and Bobbie Bethune, his brother Royston Bethune, and two sons Michael Bethune and Dwight Bryant.
Rodger was a loving and caring person, a devoted husband, father and friend. He is survived by “The Wife” Jujuan Bethune, five sons, Oscar Bryant (Billy Jo), Rodger Bethune, Jr. (Tazeria), Ray Davis, Adrian Williams and Mason Williams (grandson raised as son), three daughters Bobbie Bethune (Paul), Aramis Maxie (Dawayne) and Michaela Harris Kennon (granddaughter raised as daughter), his sister Kittie Bethune and his brother Clinton Bethune, Jr. Rodger is also survived by his father and mother – in – law Irvine (Mary) Williams, two sisters-in-law Janeen Miles, September (Marcus) Garrett and two brothers-in-law Lloyd (Amy) Williams, Timothy (Kim) Williams. A host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, Uncles, Aunts, and Cousins who loved and cherished him.
