Rodney Washington Obituary

Rodney Lindell Washington, Sr., age 49, entered eternal peace on February 23, 2025. He was a beloved son, husband, brother, father, nephew, uncle, cousin, friend, and co-worker who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Born to the union of C.W. Washington, Sr. and Rose Lee [Hall] Washington on November 7, 1975, in Dallas, Texas, where he spent his formative years. Rodney found Christ early in life and grew up attending Full Gospel Holy Temple and the Inspiring Body of Christ Church. He attended Wilmer Hutchins High School graduating class of 1994.  After graduation, he enlisted in the United States Navy in October 1995 serving until honorably discharged as an Airman (E3) in October 1999.

He later became a box car Truck Driver working for various truck companies.  Rodney’s love for truck driving drove him to attend Continental Truck Driving School in 2016 where he obtained his CDL and multiple endorsements. His experience included Commercial Truck Driving, DOT Regulations, Hazmat Endorsement, Route Planning and Logistics. Rodney received numerous Safe Driver Awards throughout his career.  His final employer was Universal Dedicated of Arlington where he worked as a CDL Truck Driver from October 2020 until God called him home.

Throughout Rodney’s career, he was known for his hard work, dedication, and his passion for making others laugh; however, more than anything, Rodney was a family man! On November 17, 2012, he was united in holy matrimony with the love of his life, Donna [Henderson] Washington. He loved and treasured spending time with his family, raising his children, and making lifelong memories.  He truly loved the special bond he has with his brothers and sisters which always shined through at family gatherings where he was always the life of every party.  In Rodney’s free time, he loved watching the Dallas Cowboy play (he was the ultimate fan), Dallas Mavericks, and the Texas Rangers.  He loved listening to music, being a DJ for family and friends’ parties, working on cars, watching and sharing funny Instagram/TikTok postings with family and friends. Anyone who knew Rodney, knew that he was a jokester, fun-loving, and good-natured person.

He never thought traveling would become such a big part of his life, his favorite destinations being Hawaii, Las Vegas, Niagara Falls, and Catalina Island. He was looking forward to the annual family trip to his and his wife’s happy place (Las Vegas). He found joy and cherished the many memories made with his wife and son Ryan during his final voyage Christmas 2024, to Nassau Bahamas and Cococay.

Rodney is survived by his parents, Rose Lee Washington and C.W. Washington Sr.; wife, Donna Washington; children, Rodney Lindell Washington, Jr., Roderick Lindell Washington, Ryan Lindell Washington; and AJ Ross (Tatiana); grandchildren, Rodney Lindell Washington III, Randy Lindell Washington, Keairra Washington, Rozai Washington, Roderick Lindell Washington Jr., Jaidynne Ross, Noah Davidson, and Evelyn Davidson; brothers/sisters, Sharon Washington, Janice Washington, Jennifer Washington, C.W. His spirit will remain with all whose lives were touched by his uncanny ability to make you laugh no matter the situation, he turned tears to smiles, and chuckles to uncontrollable laughter. His memory will be cherished by ALL who knew and loved him forever and ever!!
