Roland Eugene Sorrells was born Monday, September 6, 1948, to the parentage of Inester Sorrells, Sr. and Ella Mae Smith in Dallas, Texas. Roland accepted Jesus Christ at an early age and was a faithful member of Glendale Presbyterian Church in Dallas Texas, where he served as a Deacon, Choir Member, Church Security, and Elder, until his health failed him. Roland received his formal education from DISD graduating from James Madison High School, Class of 1967. He was then drafted into the United States Army and served our country. He worked for the United States Postal Service for 40+ years, where he retired.
Roland Eugene Sorrells departed this earthy life on Thursday, May 16, 2024. His was preceded in death by his parents, Inester Sorrells Sr. and Ella Mae Sorrells.
Precious memories remain with his son, Ciani Roland Sorrells; grandchildren: Ciara Sorrells, Ciani Roland Sorrells, II (Joy), and Celeste Sorrells; brothers: Michael Sorrells (Traci), and Inester Sorrells, III (Sandra); sisters: Cherre Walter, Sheila Dotson (Michael), Audrey Sorrells, and Ruth McGown (Sylvester); aunt, Myretha Clark, along with a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, church members and friends.
