Rosalind was born on November 12th, 1970, in Dallas, TX, to Robert and Nona Flye. She was the youngest of three children born to this union. She embraced life wholeheartedly and accepted Christ early in her life at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Dallas, Texas. She was educated in the Dallas Independent School District. As a child, she took piano lessons and as Rosalind became comfortable playing the piano, she also began singing.
After graduating from David W. Carter High School in 1989, she attended Prairie View A&M University, where she pledged Wisconsin Sleeper Inc. There, she developed her passion for singing and decided to move to San Francisco to pursue her dream. After being in San Francisco for several months she returned to Dallas, Texas to complete her BA in Communications at Texas Women University. Another one of Rosalind’s many passions was traveling. She traveled to South Africa and the entire United States. She also got joy out of caring for rescue dogs. Rosalind was an avid reader of the Bible as well as other novels and recipe books. As a food connoisseur, she had a love for cooking that she inherited from her mother. She was famous for her smothered pork chops and chicken alfredo. In fact, one Christmas she made a seafood dinner that consisted of lobster, shrimp, and seafood dressing. She would make her niece and nephews their favorite desserts as well. Rosalind also loved visiting restaurants and sampling their signature dishes.
Rosalind is preceded in death by her grandparents: Andrew and Myrtle Flye, Sr., Louis and Emma Dale: uncles: Cunnie Dale, Louis Dale, Wilbert Dale and Emerson Dale.
