“On April 30, 2021, God called our dear Mother, Rosetta to come home to be with Him. Rosetta was 97years old. She was born August 6, 1923 to Addison and Wavie West in Coal Hill, Arkansas. She was baptized and accepted Christ September 10, 1944. She completed her education in Coal Hill. ‘Mother’ lived in Topeka, Kansas for a short time then moved to Terrell, Texas in 1958. As a Terrell native, Rosetta was well-loved in her community, and was an active member of West End Church of Christ.
Rosetta was the mother of four children and although she had to work she always made time for everyone. She always provided support and love for her family. She would proudly boast about all her children graduating from high school, furthering their education, and accomplishing goals in their lives. She was also especially fond and had “much love” for all of her grandchildren, greatgrandchildren, and her great-great grandchild.
We the entire family are honored, humbled, and so appreciative of those who have come to share in our celebration of Our Mothers life, a life lived simply, but with strength and zeal while keeping God first. We are thankful for her matriarchal leadership and especially in directing us to accept Christ and live accordingly.
Rosetta was preceded in death by her son Addison Edward Oliver, grandson Banty Finley, and great granddaughter Diamond Finley. She is survived by her brother Wilburn West, and 4 sisters, Osa Perry, Arelevia Perry, Delores Johnson, and Waivie York. Her children, Gary Finley (Mary), Wilma Jordan (Ricky), Myra Anderson, son in law Michael Anderson, Myranda Oliver, daughter in law Annie Oliver, her 14 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild, and a host of nieces and nephews.
We Love you Mother, and we thank God for blessing us with you for all these years!!
